Far from its original duties on the point of Amtrak passenger trains, DLMX 644 leads a freight train over the massive timber trestle near Helvetia. This rural scene is less than ten miles from downtown Portland.
Freight Cowls are standard locomotives that have a hood that extends the full width of the locomotive. Sadly, most Freight Cowls have been retired, but a few still run on short lines.
