    Remarks & Notes
From 1890 to 2013, Beacon Park Yard in the Allston section of Boston was a busy terminal for the Boston & Albany and successors NYC, PC, CR, and CSX. It was closed in 2013 to free up the valuable land for real estate development and is now gone. Back in 1984, a five-unit lashup of four EMDs and a GE prepared to depart for Chicago on the head end of piggyback train TV-9.

A classification yard is a railway yard found at some freight train stations, used to separate railway cars on to one of several tracks. From there the cars are sent through a series of switches called a ladder onto the classification tracks.
