As mechanical issues continue to plague Metrolink's newest locomotives - the Electro Motive Division (EMD), Tier IV compliant F125 - some of the last remaining veterans of the Santa Fe Railway's once proud "Super Fleet" stand just a track away as they begin their journey into the future. Located in downtown Los Angeles at Metrolink's Keller Yard, of all places, the classic red and silver warbonnet scheme lives out its final days on these units delivered to the ATSF in the early 1990's as they await Positive Train Control (PTC) installation via contracting services with Metrolink.
