As 1974 Winds Down…

Santa Fe U36C 8746 leads a trio of of SD45s (all still in the pre-Yellow Warbonnet scheme) as a westbound freight approaches Blue Cut, in southern California’s Cajon Pass. This General Electric product was built in June 1974, just a half-year before it was photographed on this December 30, 1974, day.
