An eastbound CSX freight rattles the diamonds in the middle of Main Street in Darby, Pa. The diamonds are for a crossing of SEPTA's Route 11 streetcar. At one time, this crossing was the last at-grade crossing between a streetcar and mainline railroad in the U.S.; since then, new streetcar and light rail construction has added several new crossings. Discarded in the foreground is a removed rail/trolley diamond, a victim of a recent upgrade.
