It’s a Gas, Gas, Gas!

Santa Fe MK1200G 1201 is seen working on the Los Angeles Junction Railway in Commerce, California, on the day after Christmas, 1997. Morrison-Knudson built four natural gas powered MK1200G switchers – 2 for Santa Fe, and 2 for Union Pacific. ATSF 1201 was built from Chesapeake & Ohio GP9 6146 in August 1994. This engine would later become BNSF 1201 – and the two UP engines would also be sold to BNSF.
