Remarks & Notes

With downtown Providence in the background, a GP9/FA1 pairing of two former New Haven diesels that have been renumbered but not repainted hauls an eastbound Penn Central freight towards Northup Avenue Yard. In 1986 the Northeast Corridor mainline was relocated to the right of this photo, and this area was cleared of tracks to allow commercial development.
