The Rohr Turbo running as Amtrak's southbound Adirondack has arrived at Rouses Point, NY, and stopped north of the station for the customs inspectors who are about to board. Once they clear the train, it will pull down into the station. In pre-Amtrak days, these inspection were performed en route by US or Canadian officials who rode on board. Of course border security wasn't a big issue back then.
The Adirondack follows both the Hudson and the Lake Champlain shoreline on its leisurely trip between New York and Montreal. When it started, it was pulled by beautiful ALCO PAs purchased by Delaware & Hudson second-hand from the Santa Fe.
