NS 591 has stalled with 145 empties in Norton Yard just short of the crest of Norton Hill on the ex-Interstate Railroad. 591's crew was short on time so they cut 57 "blacks" of the head end and pulled them into Norton Yard. U48 took over the motive power and brought the remaining 88 empties into Norton.
