Looking like something out of a model railroad, this scene is actually the site of a Limestone quarry in the heart of Rockcastle County Kentucky. The rail lines on the left were once part of the original L&N from Corbin KY to Lebanon Jct just south of Louisville. All of this route has been abandoned with the exception of this section in Mt Vernon south to Sinks and what's used by the Kentucky Railway Museum from New hope to Lebanon Jct. Today, CSX operates the Sinks spur sporadically, running to the quarry only once or twice per week.
