      Remarks & Notes
This area was named after Joseph Sherar, a pioneer who owned a stage coach station and hotel owner who built a wooden bridge over the Deschutes River. Today, SP 4449 rolls over HWY 216 on route to Portland.

The Oregon Trunk, the route most well known for the Deschutes Railroad War, still sees BNSF-and at times detouring UP-traffic today. This album covers all images taken along the line between Celilo and Chemult, Oregon.
