Remarks & Notes

Northern Pacific's original mainline went up and over Mullan Pass to cross the Continental Divide. Evidence of the original line abounds with remnants of old trestles hiding in the trees. One can follow the old line over the top on a trail. The crossing is just south of the current Mullan Pass tunnel and the line rejoined the current MRL at the west end of Blossburg.
