Remarks & Notes

Along the Rio de las Animas Perdidas. The old D&RGW Silverton Line follows the valley of the Rio de las Animas Perdidas (River of Lost Souls) from Durango to Silverton. After passing Tacoma on the northbound run, the train is seldom more than 20 feet above the river level. Our Silverton Mixed is shown here working north (compass northeast) just north of Cascade at around MP 478.
