An evening rush hour MBTA commuter train just out of Boston's South Station crosses the massive triple bascule bridge over Fort Point Channel behind F40PH 1015. The bridge was constructed along with South Station in 1898. Navigation on this part of the channel ended in the 1960s and the bridge was removed when trackage in this area was rebuilt and slightly relocated in the late 1980s. One of the roller arms was mounted at its former location as a commemorative sculpture.
