A pair of MBTA FP-10s enjoy their weekend layover at the Lowell, MA, station. The 1114 still wears its original "Easter egg" colors while the 1108 has received the newer maroon and silver scheme. The poling pockets on their pilots are a hint at their former lives in freight service as Gulf, Mobile & Ohio F3s.
The 70's and 80's were a transition period for the MBTA characterized by an eclectic mix of equipment including Budd RDC's, ex-New Haven stainless steel coaches, and a mix of motive power acquired from various railroads.
