      Remarks & Notes
      Bird’s Eye OBSS
OBSS, with SS/SBD B36-7 5908 leading, is crossing the Patapsco River on the historic Thomas Viaduct on Track 1 of the B&O's Washington Subdivision (now CSX’s Capital Sub). The roadbed of the OML Sub is visible just above the third trailer.

In the year 1986 B.D. (Before Drones), elevated positions could be tough to come by. Shot from the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Thruway (I-895) overpass, this POV was only possible with the impromptu cooperation of a Maryland Toll Facilities police officer who just happened upon the scene. (Said officer will remain, for his sake, anonymous.) After I explained my business here, this very accommodating LEO, instead of immediately booting me off the bridge and issuing a citation, activated his light bar and guarded the shoulder with his cruiser until the southbound Orange Blossom Special presented itself a few minutes later.

Not just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
