As the sun comes up on a summer morning, the Baltimore & Ohio's flagship Capitol Limited is on the last lap of its overnight journey from Washington as it passes the operator's cabin at Pullman Junction on Chicago's South Side with a pair of E8s up front. The coming of Amtrak eight months later would mean the end of this train.
