Two of the twelve Budd SPV-2000s purchased by the Connecticut DOT for Amtrak Springfield-New Haven service get underway out of Springfield station. Due to chronic mechanical problems these second-generation RDCs were removed from this route after just a couple years and converted to unpowered coaches for Shore Line East commuter service.
