Pulling hard up Howardsville Grade on the NS Atlanta North-End is the southbound NS 738 (Memphis,TN/BNSF-Juliette,GA) on its way toward Atlanta, GA with a pair of EMD's motor at the head. As soon as the train get to the summit of grade it will meet NS 276 which is waiting on the number two main track at control-point (CP) Long. What is becoming almost like a normal, but not so exciting sight is the amount of Norfolk Southern motors on these Plant Scherer trains. NS does a lot of these power swapping out of Sheffield, AL, and add their own motive power on the Georgia Power coal bucket to kinda pay themselves back for the usage of power time of these train, a very economical move by the railroad. So you'll see a mixture of Thoroughbreds, and Pumpkins working together on a few of these BNSF dedication coal bucket.
