Early E-60 action, without a windshield grille. No. 953 leads a heavy southbound into 30th Street, with its pantograph depressed to a low level to clear the covered platforms. The high headlight above the cab windows, which would sometimes oscillate, is not illuminated. The 953 was built by GE for Amtrak in November, 1975.
