Once the future of railroading with a promise of 6000hp from the manufacture, today the SD9043MAC finds itself as the oddball loco on the UP's roster. 23 such units are taking up space on track 57 in the Pueblo yard as they await their fate, will it be the scrapper's torch or a new life with Norfolk Southern? Only time can tell.
