An Amtrak corridor train from Boston has completed the diesel-to-electric power swap at New Haven, and AEM-7 909 is ready to depart for New York and Washington. New Haven Union Station, in the background, opened in 1920. The main building was closed by Penn Central in the early 1970s but it was restored and reopened in 1985.
