As dusk settles over the Berkshires, Penn Central train 427, the nameless successor to the New York Central's New England States as the railroad's overnight connection from Boston to the Midwest, rolls westward at Woronoco, MA, on the former Boston & Albany. E8 4040 leads an all-NYC consist that will be combined with a train from New York at Albany.
