A pair of BLE motors lead a Miscellaneous Road Freight (MRF) from Two Harbors, MN with a stop coming shortly at the CN Keenan yard. Todays freight includes a dead SD40-2W, some empty bentonite hoppers from Northshore Mining, some siding for the Louisiana Pacific plant in Two Harbors and some other misc. cars all of which will end up at Proctor, MN and points farther.
Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
