    Remarks & Notes
A bridge too far... Not quite as intense as the movie "A Bridge Too Far," this ex-Southern Pacific bridge located just north of the Ventura station top is one of the hardest to shoot on the coast line due to the many tall plants growing taller than the right of way itself alongside it - totally obscuring it at some points. Thanks to some of the latest drone technology, however, we're able to get a bird's eye view (literally) from above this afternoon as an extremely tardy Amtrak 769 hurries across toward its final destination of Goleta.

What California is known for. Fires, droughts, weed, and people waving rainbow flags. Yah. Great place alright. At least the trains are nice.

Some of the best passenger locomotives that EMD ever made (aside from the F40PH). With all Amtrak F59s gone from the Surfline, the only place that they can be seen is with Caltrans (Amtrak California).
