    Remarks & Notes
With its station work complete, a lengthy Amtrak 1761 departs the ex-Southern Pacific Santa Barbara depot for its next station stop of Goleta with the Los Angeles-based private cars "Overland Trail," "Pacific Trail" and "Silver Splendor" riding the rear today with an additional locomotive. This morning would mark the second to last run of Amtrak 1761 serving points north of Goleta as the following Monday the Surfliner's schedule would have 761/1761 turning at Goleta.

What California is known for. Fires, droughts, weed, and people waving rainbow flags. Yah. Great place alright. At least the trains are nice.

The GE Genesis series are well known for being Amtrak's locomotive. With confirmation of retirement from Amtrak themselves, their time is limited. Now is your chance to catch them before the chargers arrive!
