The Southern Belle eases out of the KC terminal a few blocks into it's journey to the sunbelt, passing the old Municipal Stadium home of the A's for that final summer in KC before heading to Oakland. That June 9 1967, a young Reggie Jackson was called up from Birmingham by the A's and made his debut in the 5th inning of game 2 of a twilight doubleheader vs. the Indians. He smacked a leadoff triple, a bright spot in a dismal season for the A's, and the beginning of a Hall Of Fame career.
