At the end of a hot August day in 1991, one of SP's hottest symbols, the LAPCX, otherwise known as the "Pacific Coast Express," makes its way north on the Valley Line just as the sun is sinking below the western horizon. The hot train has just passed Acampo, and will soon be hustling through Galt and Elk Grove before reaching the southern outskirts of Sacramento.
