With a burst of exhaust, the E8s on the point of an Amtrak Boston-Washington train accelerate out of Boston's old Back Bay Station. In the 1980s, the small but functional 1929 station building in the background was replaced by the current modernistic Back Bay, and the tracks here are now in a tunnel that hides them from view.
