Reading Alco C630 no. 5301 (nee CR 6754) is joined in a short deadline by C430 CR2048 at Collinwood, OH. These were inherited by Conrail when its inception included absorbing several bankrupt railroads besides Penn Central on April Fool's Day 1976. By 1981 Conrail was getting its house in order and Alco power and older GEs did not have a place in its future.
