| The DL class was built by CNR Dalian and was among the first diesel locomotives to be exported from China to a "western" railroad. Though well regarded by train crews, they are disliked by many rail fans who prefer the GE and EMD locomotives that have been the backbone of NZ locomotive power for over forty years and are now being slowly replaced by the DL. |
