With a freshly washed C4 on the point and a relatively new one riding second, a westbound Z train drops downgrade into Caliente as an eastbound manifest waits in town to meet it. Following the Z's passage, the eastbound will begin its battle over Tehachapi beginning with the horseshoe curve here at Caliente.
