Remarks & Notes

On September 28, 2016, a City Of Prineville Railway freight approaches Lone Pine Road at ONeil, Oregon, with the top of Mount Jefferson looming above the trees in the background. The Milwaukee Road-looking locomotive is no accident—COPR No. 989 is one of the Milwaukee’s unique GP9 rebuilds labeled a GP20 of the same road number, repainted by the railroad in a very similar scheme.
