| All The Makings of California...Down to California Street. As Amtrak 761 approaches its next station stop of Ventura, all the makings of a picture from California come into view. With the Pacific Ocean in the background, swaying palm trees in the foreground, US 101 visible and even the California Street exit sign making an appearance - what else could one ask for? The Amtrak California equipment bringing up the rear of 761 this morning assisted in a massive boost in ridership during the closure of US 101 between Carpinteria and Santa Barbara following the mudslides in Montecino. |
