It looks like an RS3-powered Amtrak train, but actually it's an empty equipment draft leaving Boston's South Station for the Southampton Street coach yard. Amtrak 106, assigned as the South Station switcher this day, was one of three Alco RS3s that Amtrak repowered with EMD engines from scrapped E-units at the New Haven diesel shop. It began life as NYC 8263, later becoming PC 5263.
Photographs where trains and people mix, weather it's street running, plant switching or carrying a unit grain train out of an elevator, it will be put here.
