Amtrak’s California Zephyr stops briefly at Glenwood Springs, Colorado, on the afternoon of February 5, 2018. Riding westbound on the trip through the Rocky Mountains is California Zephyr dome-observation “Silver Solarium” along with former Pennsylvania 10-6 sleeper “Silver Rapids” (PRR’s contribution to the “Zephyr pool” of sleepers), temporarily renamed “Silver Smith” for this tour group traveling to Denver and return.
