| Charlottesville, in the news lately for reasons other than railroading, is recalled in this 1978 photo of a Superpower steam visitor from Texas. I just happened upon the scene after leaving Monticello with my late grandparents- we had no idea that there would be a steam train down by the tracks. And what a sight and sound it was, with the 610 leaving town with razor-sharp exhausts. |
