Two Class 6E1 locomotives, E1545 & E1682, passing through Hibberdene on the very beautiful KwaZulu Natal South Coast, as they make their way back to their depot in Wentworth, Durban. There are no longer any Class 6E1 locomotives working out of Durban. The majority of them have already been put through the Class 18E upgrade program (the Class 18E upgrade program began in 2001 and terminated in 2015 and was carried out in Koedoespoort, Pretoria). E1545 has, since this photo was taken, already undergone the conversion process and emerged from Koedoespoort as a reclassified Class 18E (Series 2), 18-781 (2014).
