In 2010, I was assigned as project manager to get the dome car wrapped for its fall foliage tour on the Adirondack and Cardinal. The design is by artist Michael Schwab, and is consistent with many of the famed name train posters he was commissioned to produce in the early to mid 2000s. This was the last year the dome was wrapped for the fall season, and weather you loved or hated the wrap it undoubtedly gave the car a unique appearance. P42 45 and the dome are in position to back onto the rest of the train which came up from NYP with a P32AC-DM.
The Adirondack follows both the Hudson and the Lake Champlain shoreline on its leisurely trip between New York and Montreal. When it started, it was pulled by beautiful ALCO PAs purchased by Delaware & Hudson second-hand from the Santa Fe.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
