    Remarks & Notes
An impending thunderstorm has darkened a hot August evening as Santa Fe train 17, the westbound Super Chief, glides into Joliet Union Station past waiting passengers. With a five-unit lashup of F7s and F7Bs up front, the Santa Fe's premier train is 38 miles into its 2222-mile trip from Chicago to Los Angeles.
