It's late afternoon in the West Virginia hollers. The sun sets behind the mountains early here. After a long day of chasing trains back and forth along Route 52 in McDowell County, it's time to head home. Then sometimes you get lucky. As I approach Maybeury, there they are. Two eastbound coal trains side by side going up Elkorn grade. The train on the right running on main 2, is lead by SD60, 6700. The massive bridge over Hwy 52 frames the scene nicely.
