| This container train, headed by 18-197, has just past through Frere Station and is now starting the climb up towards Chieveley. The train is Johannesburg bound and is about to pass under the R603 bridge and will then skirt around the Churchill Memorial site, the exact spot where a young Winston Churchill was captured by the Boers (during the Anglo Boer War), after they derailed a Natal Government Railway train that he was travelling on as a very young journalist. |
