Mount Carmel Junction Maneuvers – 3
After placing empty covered hoppers from the explosives plant on the main line, the RBM&N’s engineer has pulled his U33B into the siding, and the conductor is manning a brake wheel on one of those covered hoppers as they roll through the siding switch and past the loco. Meanwhile, a friend of mine is manning the switch to get the GE out of the pocket. Helping to keep the train moving may buy us an extra photo location later in the afternoon.
