Lindsay Bridge from The Lindsay Bridge Vintage South African Railways Collection and submitted here with permission. A Durban bound (returning from the Natal South Coast) Type 5M2 suburban commuter set, looking fantastic in the awesome South African Railways livery, makes a stop at Rossburgh Station. Lindsay viewed and photographed this scene from the footbridge that ran from the station across Sarnia Road to the Durban Corporation bus depot at Rossburgh. On a personal note, I know the scene / location very well and have very happy memories of it from my childhood days, having ridden both the buses and the train at times into Durban with my mother and older sisters to and from the area where we stayed and I grew up, which was not far beyond the Huletts sugar mill / factory visible on the right – Charles Baker.
