The late afternoon sun flashes off the nose of Boston & Maine GP9 1709 as it and a partner lead train CPSP (Newport, VT, to Springfield, MA, via CP/B&M) down the Connecticut Valley at South Deerfield, MA. The trailers behind the diesels will be handed off to Conrail at Springfield for movement west.
