      Remarks & Notes
New England Central's #608 was still working Palmer, MA on May 18, 2018, as we arrived for a hopeful pursuit of it back toward Connecticut. A matched set of blue and gold GP38s had been working this train for a couple weeks, and we were lucky enough to get it after our trip down from Maine. A heavy assortment of steel-laden gondolas made up most of this run, and it took a bit longer than normal for the crew to pop out of the trees and into some brighter sun at Bridge Street in Monson Center, MA. Who knows how many more months these EMDs will remain together or even running separately after over 40 years of service?
