Coming off the summit of Tehachapi Pass, SP 6863 East rides the hogbacks at Eric as it approaches the narrow canyon or "defile" at Cameron that will take it to the Mojave Desert. In the distance are the mountains where Monolith Portland Cement has mined materials for making its product.
