SP 9234 West meets an eastbound shy of a crossover west of Indio, CA, on the Sunset Route. The westbound's conductor is out of sight to the right of the photo giving the eastbound a roll-by. As the eastbound's caboose fades into the distance, 9234 will start its march up the eastern slope of Beaumont Hill.
