      Remarks & Notes
Strafford Station, former Pennsylvania Railroad, now serves SEPTA commuter trains along the transit agency's Paoli/Thorndale line, aka, Amtrak's Keystone route. Built in 1876, this station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It sits roughly 15 miles west of center city Philadelphia. Interestingly, the station was built as the Catalogue Building for the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. After the exposition the station was bought at auction by the PRR and moved to Wayne (2 stops east) in 1885 and then, later, moved to Strafford in 1887. When the station was moved to Strafford some of the ornamentation was removed due to placing the station on a sloping piece of land. The station was restored and upgraded between 1999 and 2002 and is seen here receiving additional exterior restoration in 2018, note the new exterior paint on both the first and second floor facades.
