Remarks & Notes

The sun has set in a smoky sky over lake Pend Oreille and on cue, a westbound BNSF manifest crosses the bridge and into my frame. Soon this scene will look rather different, as BNSF is in the planning stages to build a second bridge to relieve the bottle neck that is this single track section of the Kootenai River Subdivision.
